Warrior

Warriors in Classic are one of the most interesting designed classes in the entire game. On their own, they are laughably bad. Their susceptibility to kiting allows nearly every single class in the game to whittle them down with ease. Teamed up with a support though, they turn into the most terrifying anchor on any team, able to rip through enemy backlines with terrifying efficiency. However, the sheer dominance of the Arms spec is undeniable. Fury and Protection were both undeniably inferior outside of extremely niche scenarios. In Legionnaire+ we aim to rectify that.

Fury was mainly a PvE spec. While it technically does more damage than Arms in classic, its sustained damage as opposed to burst. Burst in PvP is preferable as it often leads to more consistent kill confirms. In addition, the lack of the 50% healing debuff, Mortal Strike, means Fury just gets its damage trivially healed. We've added some tools to Fury to help make the archetype less one-dimensional so that there are scenarios where it outperforms Arms (while still keeping Arms the defacto charge and stick spec). Fury now has "Heroic Leap", a targetted gap closer that shares cooldown with Intercept. This gives Fury some vertical presence, helping solve some LoS problems that Intercept otherwise can't deal with as well as having some flag-running and defensive implications. We've also buffed Death Wish, giving it a 4 second unstoppable on top of its original effects, allowing Fury to pre-emptively avoid some kiting/CC problems that Arms would be unable to deal with. Finally, we've given them Titan's Grip, allowing them to wield a 2hander in each hand. It also debuffs your damage by a considerable percentage and is given more for flavor reasons than mechanical ones.

Protection in Classic was a niche flag running spec and nothing else. Given the right composition, it earned a strong second-place to Druid flag running in Warsong. We've given them some fancy new tricks to help them in arenas and very slightly buff their flag running capabilities. "Taunt" is a new form of PvP crowd control in Legionnaire+, drawing targets into melee range to attack you. The Taunt spell that Protection Warriors get is a PBAoE crowd control, helping them support their teammates or interrupt spells in a crowd. We've also given them "Intervene" from later expansions, allowing them to charge towards an ally, removing their movement impairing effects. Lastly, their "Improved Sunder Armor" talent was improved to also apply a snare on the target, giving Protection Warriors a much-needed skill to lock down targets in Defensive Stance without having to Hamstring. They will still have to "Stance Dance" and weapon-switch a lot in order to be effective. This is by no means a beginner-friendly archetype.
