Centurion is Classic+ PvP on the 3.3.5 client. The foundation is vanilla 1.12 and it still plays like it: hunters have to Feign Death to trap, Rank 1 Frostbolt is very fast, mounts are a 3 second cast, CCs are long with heartbeat resist, and there is no hit rating, no crit rating and no resilience anywhere. What sits on top of that foundation is a lot. Two kinds of character, 76 new item sets, four completely custom battlegrounds, new spells for the specs that needed them, full collision, Naxxramas and Onyxia backported to 1.12, challenge modes, and an open world you can lose everything in.
Two characters, one account
You pick which kind of character you want when you create it, and you can keep one of each on the same account, in the same guild, on the same world chat.
World characters play the whole game. Level 1 to 60, professions, the auction house, dungeons, raids, and an open world that will kill you and take your gear.
Tournament characters start at 60 with a full set of starting gear. They interface with the world in an extremely limited fashion, relegated to basically only instanced PvP, duelling and honor progression. No farming, no professions, no dungeons. You log in, you queue, you fight.
The world
- Full loot, FFA PvP. You drop everything on death if you opt in to War Mode at your local innkeeper.
- So do the playerbots roaming the world. They will kill you, take your gear and sell it on the auction house, as well as buy their own upgrades off it. Which means you can kill them, take their gear, and sell it back to them.
- Level 10 to 60 entirely through PvP if you want, either in battlegrounds or out in the world.
- Challenge modes such as Hardcore, Ironman and more. Opted into per character rather than realm-wide.
- Completely factionless, with flightmaster and quest support. Be an orc and do Stormwind quests if you want. Outside of designated sanctuaries you are in a FFA PvP zone.
Battlegrounds and arenas
- Queues actually pop. Battlegrounds and skirmish arenas fill out with AI players in under a second, at any hour and any bracket, sorted into easy, medium and hard. Both teams draw from the same tier, so a filled match is not lopsided.
- Painstakingly refined playerbot PvP logic with full battleground and arena support. They run the flag, they play objectives, and they will drop the flag if a teammate asks them to.
- Auto-gear for undergeared 60s. If your gear is worse than your dungeon set, you are equipped into your dungeon set for the match and your own gear is restored the moment you leave.
- 15 arenas.
- 8 battlegrounds, 4 of them completely custom made and 2 backported from later clients.
- Custom lobby support for arenas and battlegrounds with modified rulesets.
- A polished arena replay system.
Combat and balance
PvE, for the world half
- 2 man dungeons and 5 man raids. Content scales down so a pair of you can clear a five man.
- Naxxramas and Onyxia, backported to 1.12.
Quality of life
- Opt-in transmog, and you can switch it off entirely and never see anyone else's.
- Account banks for moving gear between your own characters.
- Dual spec.
- Linux support bundled into the launcher, under whatever Proton version you are running.
What it costs
Nothing. There is no subscription, no store, no supporter tier, no cosmetics for sale and no donation page. There is no PayPal, no CashApp and no Venmo. There is nothing to buy at all, from us or from anyone else, and there never will be. This is a passion project, not a financial one.
Where is everyone?
We are small, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The AI players are there so that a small server is still worth logging into on a Wednesday, not to inflate a number at you. The online page counts people and AI separately so you can see exactly what you are getting.
Everyone shows up at once on Friday Fight Night, 9PM EST every week. If you are only going to log in once, make it that one.
