Priests, the masters of healing. The only class with both an offensive and defensive magic dispel, making it a must-have in any Classic PvP composition. Overall, Discipline was great and Shadow had a very satisfying niche as a duelist and defender. Holy was slightly undertuned, but overall, Priest-specific changes were made with a very light touch. We moved Mana Burn out of their base kit and into the Discipline tree, wanting to give more distinction between the Holy and Discipline support routes. Taking this tool away from Holy priests meant we could buff them in other flashier, powerful ways. Holy now, for example, can on-demand go into Angel form, essentially an ice block they can heal from. But the MAIN changes to priests come in the form of their priest-specific "racial" abilities. In Classic, every other priest racial is outshined by Fear Ward. So we revisited every single Priest racial in the game so that they're more in line with what dwarves did in Classic.
Dwarf:
Fear ward, we kept the same. We took Desperate Prayer away from them so that there was no duplication between themselves and humans. In return, we gave them "Abolish Magic", an offensive debuff you put on the enemy that cleanses 1 beneficial magic effect from them every 2 seconds for 12 seconds.
Human:
Desperate Prayer we kept the same. We took away Feedback and in return gave them Chastise, a Holy damage spell with a very short root, allowing them to kite away from danger and lock down key targets.
Night Elf:
Star shards was removed and replaced with "Wisp Form". Wisp Form makes you immune to all movement impairing effects and increases your movement speed by 50% for 3 seconds. Elune's Grace was reworked so that it now grants a target invisibility after 3 seconds, allowing potential sneak attacks or delayed protection for yourself or a friend.
Troll:
Shadowguard remains unchanged and still procs Blackout. Hex of Weakness was buffed to 50% healing reduction and it has a cooldown of 6 seconds, in parity with Mortal Strike. This allows Troll priests to be an alternative source of healing reduction in comps lacking warriors, without stealing their thunder too much. While Hex of Weakness is ranged, it still costs mana and has no dispel protection.
Undead:
Devouring Plague is now "Devouring Curse" and no longer a disease. We got rid of all the disease cleansing mechanics in the game as they were an extra hotkey in PvP that ONLY countered this one very niche spell. Now, it can be decursed by Druids and Mages. Touch of Weakness was changed to "Wyrm's Shadow", a cone-shaped, shadow damage spell interrupt
